Much, many, little, few, a lot, plenty

A. much and little with uncountable nouns:
much time, much luck, much money, little energy

many and few with plural nouns:
many chairs, many people, few seats

B. a lot of/ lots of/plenty of with both uncountable and plural nouns:
a lot of luck, lots of time, plenty of money
a lot of friends, lots of people, plenty of ideas

Plenty= more than enough
You've got plenty of time.

C. Much is unusual on positive sentences(especially in spoken English):
I didn't spend much money.
She spent a lot of money.
(not She spent much money)

Many, a lot of, and lots if in all kind of sentences:
Many people were drunken in the festival.
A lot of people were drunken in the festival.

many years/ many weeks/ many days
(not a lot of...)

D. Little and few(with out a) are negative ideas:
She has few friends there.
I have very few friends in Sydney.

E. A little and a few have a more positive meaning:
She has a little time before she started her work.
I have a few friends in here. We get together sometimes.

She speaks little Spanish, so she has difficulty to communicate with him.
She speaks a little Spanish, so she is able to communicate with him.

Hurry up! We have only a little time.
There were only a few restaurants.
