​​Enough ​and too

A. ​Enough는 형용사나 부사 뒤:
She can't swim very far. She's not ​fit enough. (not enough fit)
Let's go. We've waited ​long enough.

too...와 ​not... enough의 비교:
You never stop studying. You study ​too hard.
(= more than is necessary) 필요보다 더 많이 의미
You're lazy. You do​n't study ​hard enough.
(= less than is necessary) 필요보다 더 적게 의미


B. ​Enough는 일반적으로 명사 앞:
I can't swim very far. I don't have ​enough energy. (not energy enough)
She has got ​enough money. She doesn't need any more.

표현 참고:
I don't have ​enough time. (not the time wasn't enough)
There is ​enough money. (not the money is enough)

​enough를 단독으로 사용 가능(명사 없이):
She doesn't need any more money. She has got ​enough.

​too much/many​enough의 비교:
There's ​too much home appliances in this room. There's not ​enough space.

There were ​too many people in the subway and not ​enough seats.

C. ​enough/too... for somebody/something
사람이나 사물에게 사용:
I don't have ​enough time ​for the test.
Is Sofia experienced ​enough for the job?
This pajama is ​too big ​for me. I need a smaller size.

​enough/too... to do something(not for doing)으로 표현. 예를 들면:
We don't have ​enough time to go on vacation. (not for going)
Is Sofia ​experienced enough to do the job?
We're ​too young to get married./ We're not ​old enough to get married.
Let's take a taxi. It's ​too late to walk hospital from here.
The stick is just ​long enough ​for me to hit the chestnut burr.

D. The tea was very hot. We couldn't drink ​it. and The tea was so hot that we couldn't drink ​it. but The tea was ​too hot ​to drink. (without it)

The machine is ​too heavy to carry.
(not too heavy to carry it)
The umbrella was ​too big to put in my bag.
(not too big to put it)
