Each and every
A. Each and every는 의미적으로 비슷함. 종종 둘 다 사용 가능:
Every time I see you, you look so beautiful.
There's air conditioner in each room of the building.
그러나 each와 every는 정확하게 같지는 않음.
each
하나하나 분리해서 어떤 것들을 생각할 때
Taste each dishes carefully.
each는 작은 숫자에 주로 사용함.
There were three cars in the parking space. Each car was a different brand.
(in a card game) At the beginning of the game, each player has two cards.
every
어떤 것들을 그룹으로 생각할 때. every의 의미는 전부(all)와 같다.
We tasted every dishes served.
every는 큰 숫자에 주로 사용함.
He loves gundam figures. He has collected every series of the gundam. (=all the series)
I would like to visit every country in the world. (=all the countries)
Each(but not every)는 두개를 뜻할 때 사용 될 수 있다.
In a soccer game, each team has eleven players.(not every team)
Every(not each) 어떤 일이 얼마나 자주 발생하는지
"How often do you exercise?"
"Everyday." (not each day)
C. each와 every를 사용할 때 구조 비교
each with a noun:
each book, each person
each 단독으로 사용 가능
None of the pictures was the same.
Each(=each picture) was different.
eachone:
Each one was different.
each of:
Taste each of these food.
Each of the cars is different brand.
every with a noun:
every book, every student
every는 단독으로 사용할 수 없음. 단, every one은 가능
Have you visited all the cities in that country?
Yes, every one.
every one of (but not every of):
I've tasted every one of those dishes.
(not every of these dishes)
I've read every one of them.
C. each는 문장의 끝이나 중간 둘 다 사용 가능
The audiences were each given a present.
(= Each audiences was given a present)
These peaches cost ₩1,000 each.
D. Everyone과 every one
Everyone (한 단어)는 오직 사람에게만 사용
(= everybody)
Every one(두 단어)는 사람이나 사물. each one과 비슷함.
Everyone enjoyed the food. (=Everybody...)
Sofia has passed all the hospitals she interviewed, so she can go every one she want. (=to every hospital)
