A. Whose
우리는 관계사절에서 his/her/their 대신 whose를 사용한다.
we saw some people - their house had destroyed.
-> We saw some people whose house had destroyed.

whose 주로 사람에게 사용.
What's the name of the woman whose house you rented? (you rented her house)
I met someone whose sister I went to school with. (I went to school with his/her sister)

who와 whose 비교:
I met a woman who likes you. (she likes you)
I met a woman whose brother likes you. (his brother likes you)

B. Whom
관계사절에서 동사의 목적어로 사용될 때 who대신 whom을 사용 가능.
The man whom I wanted to see was away on vacation. (I wanted to see him)

전치사와도 사용 가능. (to whom/ from whom/with whom, etc.):
The people with whom I study are very nice.
(I study with them)

그러나 영어로 말할 때 whom은 잘 사용하지 않음. 일반적으로 who나 that을 사용하거나 생략:
The woman I wanted see... or The woman who/that I wanted to see...
The people I work with... or The people who/that I work with...

C. Where
관계사절에서 장소를 말할 때 where 사용 가능.
the restaurant - we had dinner there - it was near my home
-> The restaurant where we had dinner was near my home.

I'm thinking about going back to the town where I grew up.
(or ... the town I grew up in or ... the town that I grew up in)
I would like to live in a place where there are many trees.

D. the day/ the year/ the time, etc. {something happens or that something happens}

Do you remember the day (that) we went to Cheon-an?
The last time (that) we gathered, he didn't came.
I haven't seen them since the year (that) Hyun-ju got married.

E. the reason {something happens or that/why something happens}

The reason I'm calling you is to confess my love.
(or The reason that I'm calling/ The reason why I'm calling)
