(boring/bored, etc.)

A. 많은 형용사가 -ing와 -ed로 끝난다.
For example: boring and bored.

Sofia has been watching the same and her favorite TV channel for a very long time because she lost the remote controller. Every day she watches exactly the same channel again and again. She doesn't enjoy the channel any more and would like to watch something new.

Sofia's favorite channel is boring now.

Sofia is bored. (with her favorite channel)

누군가가 지루함을 느낀다(bored)는 것은 무엇인가(또는 다른 누군가가) 지루하다는 것(boring)이다. 또는, 무엇인가가 지루하다는 것(boring)은 당신을 지루하게(bored) 만든다는 것이다.

Sofia is bored because her favorite channel on TV is boring.
Sofia's favorite channel on TV is boring, so Sofia is bored. (not Sofia is boring)

만약 사람이 지루하다면(boring), 다른 사람을 지루하게 만든다는 것(bored)을 의미한다.

Jaehyun always talks about old things. He's really boring.

B. 형용사 -ing와 -ed의 비교

My job is {boring, interesting, tiring, satisfying, depressing. (etc.)}
여기서 형용사 -ing는 직업에 대해 당신에게 말해준다.

He is bored with his job.
Ryu is not interested in his studying any more.
He get very tired doing his job.
I'm not satisfied with my job.
His job makes him depressed. (etc.)

위의 예들은 형용사 -ed가 누군가가 (직업에 대하여) 어떻게 느끼는지를 말해준다.

It was surprising that she came to my school.

Everybody was surprised that he quitted his job.
